The beaches of the White Isle may be derelict at the moment, but there is no doubt that during the summer months the rich, the famous and the wannabe’s all flock to Ibiza to see and to be seen. And to party at some of the most exclusive and legendary nightspots on the Spanish island.
Almost every celebrity has spent a summer break on Ibizan soil at some point. The island draws some of the most important A-list Hollywood actors, international musicians, DJs and socialites who can be spotted sunbathing aboard a yacht anchored in one of the island’s secluded coves or swimming in its crystalline waters. Many have even have bought properties on the island, making Ibiza their permanent summer retreat. A place where they can mingle, be seen, or indeed hide away from prying eyes in one of the many luxury waterfront villas. The choice is theirs… and they love it!
There are some hotspots for star sighting on the island, such as the stunning beaches of Ses Salines and Cala Jondal, exclusive beach clubs like the Blue Marlin and trendy restaurants like Cipriani’s Downtown Ibiza, where Orlando Bloom infamously tried to punch Justin Bieber while Leonardo Di Caprio watched.
So who might you see this summer in Ibiza? Here are our top 9 celebrities to look out for.
David Guetta
Parisian superstar dance artist David Guetta is returning to the White Isle with his popular F*** Me I’m Famous residency at Pacha every Thursday. His love for Ibiza is no secret since his career bloomed here, as explained by the biographical documentary ‘Made in Ibiza’. In recent years he has invited some of his famous friends such as Usher, Will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg or Ludacris to join him at the DJ booth, so you can expect some surprise appearances in 2017.
Paris Hilton
The rich heiress flies to Ibiza at least once a week in the summer for her popular DJ residency at Amnesia on Sundays, ‘Foam and Diamonds‘. She’s been coming to the island for four years now and it doesn’t look like she’s going to stop as, in her own words, Ibiza is her favourite place in the world. Paris’ Instagram account is full of pictures of luxurious infinity pools and bikini shots featuring the island’s beaches. This year she’ll probably bring her brand new beau, actor Chris Zylka, to her own personal paradise.
Carl Cox
The British DJ has been a regular visitor to Ibiza ever since he started his weekly residency at Space Ibiza fifteen years ago. But all good things must come to an end and the legendary nightclub said goodbye to the White Isle’s nightlife last October with the party of the decade. Nobody knew whether Coxy would be returning to Ibiza in 2017 until January when he announced that he will be hosting his PURE party at Privilege this season.
Shakira & Gerard Piqué
The power couple bought a luxurious apartment in celebrity favourite Life Marina Ibiza development in 2013, which also hosts other footballers including Carles Puyol and David Villa, as well as Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. The 3 million euros abode is located in a building designed by architect Jean Nouvel, and will surely accommodate the new parents this summer. So keep your eyes peeled for the Colombian beauty and her kids Milan and Sasha in 2017.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Four-times Ballon d’Or winner and football megastar Cristiano Ronaldo usually chooses Ibiza for a well-deserved break every summer. Last year we saw him relaxing on a yacht just before the UEFA Euro 2016 started. He might be joined by girlfriend Georgina and son Cristiano Jr this year or, who knows, maybe even by his twins who are due to be born “very soon”.
Craig David
After his super-successful TS5 Pool Party residency at Ibiza Rocks Hotel last year, the superstar British singer is returning to the island. It does seem like he enjoyed his time in Ibiza as, in his on words, “last summer I had one of the most fun 8 weeks of my life… I can’t wait to do it all again”.
Jade Jagger
Mick Jagger’s jewellery designer daughter usually spends every summer at her 400-year-old finca in the small northern village of San Juan, where she comes with the whole family to escape the hustle and bustle of London. She bought the house in 1998 and since then it has become a haven for some of her most famous friends, such as supermodel Kate Moss who is usually seen spending part of her summer break visiting Jade on the island.
Zinedine Zidane
The acclaimed French midfielder and Real Madrid’s successful coach has a villa in Talamanca. He can often be seen enjoying the Ibizan sun aboard his yacht with his wife and sons. This summer he will surely head to the island once again to relax after his second season at the helm of one of the world’s largest football clubs.

Many other international celebrities have seen walking on Ibiza’s white sandy beaches or dancing in its infamous nightclubs. Only last year, the White Isle saw the likes of Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber, Ricky Martin, Gareth Bale, Matt Bellamy from Muse, Kate Hudson, Pixie Lott, Lily James with Matt Smith, Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Ruby Rose, Eva Longoria or Wayne Rooney.
They are not the only ones as Ibiza has attracted superstars for decades, from Paul McCartney to Lindsay Lohan, George Clooney and wife Amal, Kim and Kanye, Beyonce, Will Smith, Madonna, Giorgio Armani, Anne Hathaway, Tinie Tempah, Naomi Campbell, Kylie Minogue, Ed Milliband, and the list goes on and on.
